Websites for retail stores

A website that answers "are you open, and do you have it?" before the customer drives over

Rune builds custom websites for independent shops anywhere in the country. They load fast on a phone, show up when someone nearby searches for what you sell, and run on Skal, our editor, so you update hours, new arrivals, and sale signs yourself.

What you get

Websites for shops with a front door

Every site is custom, hand-built, and yours to keep.

Hours and directions, first

Today's hours, holiday hours, and a map on the first screen. The most common question a shop gets is whether it is open right now, so the site answers it before anything else.

What is in stock

A browsable catalog of what you carry, by brand and category, with an honest "call to check" where counts change daily. Shoppers come in already knowing you have it.

Local pickup and holds

Reserve-in-store, buy online and pick up, or a simple hold request, whichever fits how you sell. Orders land in your inbox and on the site, not in a third-party app.

Found for the products, not just the name

Pages for the brands and categories people search for, with product and store structured data, so "work boots near me" can lead to your shop.

Google Business Profile that matches

Same hours, phone, categories, and photos on the profile and the site, so Google trusts both and your shop shows up on the map with the right details.

Sales and new arrivals from your phone

Post this week's sale, a new shipment, or a seasonal window display in Skal from the sales floor, with no developer and no waiting.

FAQ

Questions shop owners ask us

Do I need to sell online, or is an in-store website enough?

Many shops do best with a site that drives foot traffic: hours, directions, what you carry, and a way to hold an item. If you want to ship, we add a real store with checkout. Both are custom, and you can start with one and add the other later.

How do I keep hours and inventory current without a web person?

Skal gives you a sign-in and a visual editor. Change hours, add a brand, mark something sold out, and publish. It takes about as long as updating a social post.

Can the site connect to my point-of-sale system?

Often, yes. Square, Shopify POS, Lightspeed, and Clover can share inventory and products with the site. We check what your system supports before promising it.

We mostly get customers from Instagram. Why a website?

Instagram reaches people who already follow you. A website reaches the person searching "gift shop near me" at 2 p.m. on a Saturday, and it is yours, not an algorithm's. The two work well together, and we link them.

Can you help with our Google listing?

Yes. We set up or clean up the Google Business Profile so categories, hours, photos, and the website link match, which is most of what puts a local shop on the map.
